Denis Matvienko
The only thing good about Milano is Teatro alla Scala. Although the tickets for good
seats are frightenly expensive (for ballet around 130 euros; for opera around 210 euros),
but do trust me, it's worth every penny you paid!
While the exterior might look inferior, the interior, however, is magnificent. The settings of the
stage is a miracle - the whole stage during the performance is like an animated canvas, an
unbelivable visual feast. it was the first time I watch a ballet performance, and luckily I got this
chance to see the world famous Don Chisciotte in one of the best opera house on earth, it's
really unforgettable. The two leading ballet dancers Denis Matvienko & Svetlana Zakharova
are both very good-looking, They were dancing so inflently and elegantly, every move precisely
fitting the music, especially Denis Matvienko is a really talented and gifted ballet dancer, he actually
"flied" all around the stage like he was wearing ice skates! Every audience there that night just all
so crazy about this young ballet star ( he is only 28 years old!), everyone just couldn't help to clap
non-stop for his superb dancing skills.
And the well-dressed audiences is another attraction while getting into the Scala, but don't worry
for the dress code, you don't have to dress like a news anchor or fashion models to watch a show
, jeans and T-shirts are actually acceptable - even the seat you book is in the most expensive
sections.
Forgot to mention about the brilliant sound effects of the opera house, it's one of the best features
of the Scala - the volume of the symphony is not so loud to hurt your ears (to my sensitive ears,
it was not loud at all ) - the special design of the interior just makes every single tune deliever
accurately into your ears.
Sorry for forgetting to bring my camera (grazie mille, fucking-lousy Hotel Berna!), so I counld
not let you see how wonderful inside the Teatro alla Scala - but it doesn't matter because I think
YOU MUST GO TO SCALA BY YOURSELF AT LEAST ONCE IN THIS LIFE TIME! The unique experience
cannot be copied by cameras or DVs.
Got to Scala to watch a show, or don't go to Milano.
